This package includes our custom 24-hour online CME course and 16 hours of time in a currently running EMT course at EMT Utah. By completing all 24 hours of material in the online course and auditing an entire 16 hours of an EMT class, all 40 hours of CME time required by BEMS and NREMT will be satisfied for EMT Recertification.
The Online CME Course is 24 hours of online material, which have been hand-picked by EMT Utah to fulfill state and national CME requirements. The exclusive material is offered via the EMT textbook publishers, Jones & Bartlett learning; however, none of the material is repetitive information from what was learned in class. The topics include interactive lectures, articles, videos, and games that from the most current information in EMS news and education. With new topics added regularly, this online course offers education to keep you on the cutting edge of what’s new in EMS. The flexibility that comes with being offered online means that this course can be completed at your own pace at any time that works for you.
Auditing EMT Class Time may not be as beneficial as the dedicated CME/Refresher course; however, it can provide a good option for some students who need more flexibility in scheduling to complete the in-person CME hours. EMT Utah holds classes year-round in three campuses: Salt Lake City, Orem, and Clearfield. Day classes are typically two days per week from 8:00am to 3:00pm and evening classes are typically two days per week from 6:00pm to 10:00pm, with some Saturdays from 8:00am to 5:00pm.
Auditing time in class must be arranged with EMT Utah’s admin office and CME Tuition paid before attending any class time. It is not possible to schedule time to audit a specific topic within a class. If you are looking for instruction on a specific topic, consider taking the dedicated CME/Refresher class where the instructor is prepared to focus on individual needs.
