EMT Testing Process & Fees

nremtTESTING Requirements:
Successful completion of the EMT program allows graduates to sit for the National Registry Emergency Medical Technicians examination. The psychomotor exam may be taken on campus about a week or so after the program ends. The date is NOT guaranteed and may be postponed. Students who do not test within about 3-4 weeks or sooner after the program ends should continue to attend remediation (Skills Labs) until they test.

BEMS: Candidate is required to pay a fee of $115 to BEMS.  The process of paying this fee and uploading all documents occurs online. More information about this process is in the Student Handbook you get at orientation.

NREMT: Candidate must pay $80 to the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) to take the written test at a Pearson Vue site – to begin go to the NREMT website, where the student must create an account. This account should be created immediately and the fee paid no later than 30 days after class begins.

School: NREMT psychomotor testing is included in the cost of your tuition. The school offers three attempts to pass the exam. Five skills are passed off and tested on the last two days of class. Trauma assessment and Epi assessment are tested about week later on the last NREMT test date. Students who failed the second attempt on the last two days of class or at the final test date, will have a chance to remediate and then retest. Students who fail the exam the third time are ineligible to test again.
