Description:
EMT Utah’s Interns work on a part-time scheduled basis, assisting with EMT and AEMT courses at our Murray campus (Clearfield and Orem options coming soon). Interns work closely with Course Coordinators and Instructors to assist our current students, as they make their way through our programs. Our Interns are expected to participate with skills work and assist the Course Coordinator and Instructors with the day-to-day operations of our courses. Interns are expected to act with the utmost respect towards our students, while maintaining a professional demeanor, and upholding integrity throughout all of their duties. Our intern program is prioritized for previous students, to help retain the information that they learned during their course.
This internship is not solely for previous/current EMT Utah students, but spots will be allocated to previous/current students before outside applicants.
Qualifications:
- Preferred to be a previous EMT Utah student in either EMT, AEMT, WFA, or WFR programs
- Must be proficient in English, both written and oral
- Must be on track to take the NREMT cognitive exam, but it is not required at the time of application or selection
- Must have a current, non-expired BLS for Healthcare Providers certification; AHA BLS Instructor preferred but not required
- Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the job including but not limited to standing, kneeling, lifting and moving simulated patients, performing CPR and other physical assessments and interventions, etc.
- No clinical experience is required during the course of the internship
- Must be professional and approachable and able to work collaboratively in the students’ best interests
- Must demonstrate a commitment to integrity and high moral and ethical standards
Compensation:
Our internship program is currently unpaid, with a wealth of incentives, including decreased course costs on any course at EMT Utah locations (based on performance), interview prep, letters of recommendation, job mentoring, CMEs, networking, and much more.
